How To Make Current Infrastructure Future Ready For Electric Vehicles

Should Infrastructure Need To Be Future-Ready for Electricity Vehicles (EV) Era? 

Electric Vehicles have their benefits for the environment and users, and have their drawbacks in travelling at long-range miles. Yes, manufacturers are producing batteries with high storage, but these will comes with weights. The weights will be damaging the performances and components of the vehicle especially suspensions and tyres. In addition, charging a bigger battery will require longer charging times than already the current battery technology that takes the whole night to get the car fully charged. Hence, high storage batteries are not a magic bullet to solve the main issues of having electric vehicles that repel the majority of the consumer to not adapting towards future sustainable technology.

The infrastructure can be the essential factor to support the usability of electric vehicles, such as embedding charging technology in the roads, however, these will cost a lot from overhauling the whole roads and highways. Moreover, putting a ground charging car park may not be practical for the vehicles that are always on the move. To emphasize here, the complete transition to electric vehicles is essential to make the electric vehicles viable for the future, which by making vehicles for deliveries and patrolling are practically accessible to the energy conveniently. Right now, filling up a tank in few minutes is very practical in a fast-moving society and forgetting to charge an electric vehicle overnight will be a disaster on the next day.

Therefore, we should embed energy receiver technology on the electric vehicles themselves, these “energy receivers” are solar cells. Since, solar technologies are getting lighter, cheaper and generate higher energy per square meter. Moreover, electric vehicles don’t require large batteries for long travel without charging, instead, the vehicles can just use the regular battery for night use (which people travel less) and during the day the vehicles can charge on the move.

These solar technologies can complement the charging station/parking, instead of spendings a lot on overhauling the whole existing infrastructure in the country. It’s not worth the investment to destroy the existing expensive infrastructure. And, maintaining the road will be dangerous and hassle.
