Keep Being Relevant Overtime Rather Than Stopping The Industry Disruption

As we know there are no limitations in terms of advancements in this world. There are no tools that are already enough and haven’t changed for twenty years. And producers that are dominating in the industry and have got comfortable will be defeated with newcomers (startup) that offer better ways in value delivering to the same mature market that already looks forward to change or betterment. Humans never settle even the products already good enough. Hence, with the right recipes, the newcomers will disrupt the industry and take over the whole market. As an example, Apple stole Nokia and Blackberry users almost completely after they introduced full-screen smartphones by removing the traditional keypads.

Who would have thought that a phone without keypads will be more useful right? And same goes for Apple, we never know what the future will be, either a startup or Apple themselves will offer new disruptive technology to replace their flagship products completely. It is better to stay in the lead for centuries.

As a company, we should never get comfortable, as a market leader with massive resources that we have built, we should already be aware first! of the potential for completely new products to be made. This is why we see in the smartphone industry, the manufacturers are always launching their new products every year with new features. The smartphone industry is the fastest growing industry as now phones have become like a computer-in-hand and as a tool to generate revenue. And the brands are racing to be the first in introducing new and better features.

As discussed in the related, it is better to stay in lead as the first company that disrupts the industry and quickly capture the massive market share. Because when a company let other new businesses compete for the opportunity, this will create a never-ending draining resources competition. Therefore, companies like Apple or Tesla should always be in the lead in the industry to innovate and as an example for the rest of the industry players. For startups that offer better products should be supported by these established companies in terms of financially and other resources for development. The market leader should be the industry main investor and enabler for startups to create new potential disruptive products as subsidiaries.
