Sunlight is available during the daytime and the excess harness energy generate will be store in the battery for later night use (this with hope if there are enough excess to keep since the household is less at home during the day). However, during the COVID-19 pandemic with a control movement order, the monthly consumption of electricity is skyrocket high which makes the solar system electricity generation will not be enough for the unexpected rise of their consumption. Since usually homes install a solar system with a capacity just enough to cover their monthly electricity bill because bigger capacity solar systems are expensive and will be redundant if they can't fully utilize the generated excess energy.

As sunlight is only available during the day and is limited to the system generation capacity, there is another found alternative which is the ocean current. Even the ocean current is inconsistent velocity but they are continuous throughout the day and night, and the ocean current from one direction will turn the turbine as a tidal effect and the turns will generate the electricity.

The Orbital Marine Power has developed as claimed by them the most powerful turbine called "Orbital 02 2MW". The turbine is float on the water surface and anchored with the subsea cable that links to the electricity network under the ocean which is connected to the utility grid on land. The turbine will turn by the moving current and the rate of electricity generation is in accordance with the strength of the current. This technology has the capacity to generate annual electricity for 2,000 homes.

This is an initiative to tackle some limitations and to achieve a 100% sustainable energy mix (solar, tidal, hydro and bio) that can be reliable and to displace the use of hydrocarbon materials completely.
